The project consists of design criteria package with approximately 39,000 GSF of Courtroom renovations . The building footprint is in the center of an entire city block owned by the County. The Courthouse shares the block with another County Office building at 501 First Avenue North. This building (also referred to as the 501 Building) has been used in the past as administrative and tenant office space. Some County court facilities are also located in the 501 Building. The existing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th courtroom floors are being significantly renovated which includes new ADA upgrades, casework, ceilings, lighting, wall paneling, carpet and building systems. Project budget is estimated at $11,360,078.
